Getting started
Dashboard tour
Find your way around the sidebar — what to check every shift, and what you set up once.
Your dashboard is split into what you watch during service and what you configure occasionally. This page walks the sidebar top to bottom so you know where everything lives.
The sidebar at a glance
- Dashboard — your live view. Every table with an active chat shows as a card with its message count, last activity, and any pending service requests as badges. Tap a card to read the conversation. See Watch live diner chats. The check-in keypad sits here too, along with a banner whenever a diner uses a reward, so a one-screen restaurant never has to tab away.
- Operations — the things that need someone during service:
- Orders — the live board of table orders waiting to be confirmed or cleared. See Take orders at the table.
- Check in — type a diner's 4-digit code to punch every card they're collecting. See Check diners in.
- Feedback — what diners said when the chat asked how their meal was.
- Setup — what you configure and revisit rarely:
- Menu — sections, items, prices, photos, and serving times.
- Tables & QR — your tables and printable QR stickers.
- Specials — promo cards diners browse, plus your loyalty punch-card and your Foodie Network partnership, each on its own tab.
- Settings — profile, billing, team, and chat options. Visible to owners and managers only.
- Contact Us — reach the AskFoodie team.
Inside Settings
Settings has its own sub-pages:
- Profile — restaurant name, location, contact details, and the danger zone (deleting the restaurant).
- Billing — your plan and free-diner usage. Owners only. See plans & billing.
- Team — invite and manage owners, managers, and staff.
- Experience — chat access options and review platform links.
Good to know
- Badges mean "needs a human". The counts on Dashboard and Orders are pending items waiting on your staff, and they update on their own every few seconds.
- What staff see is smaller. Staff get the day-to-day pages (Dashboard, Orders, Check in, Feedback, Menu, Tables & QR, Specials) but not Settings. See Roles: owner, manager & staff.
- Opening hours are edited on the Menu page (via the Default serving time chip), not in Settings — Settings shows a read-only summary that links you there.
