Take orders at the table

Table ordering turns a diner's in-chat cart into a real order your staff can see, verify, and settle at billing. It's a light ordering loop on top of the AI chat — not a full point-of-sale. There's no in-app payment or tax; you still bill the customer your usual way. The app just shows you what each table ordered.

How it works

1. The diner builds a cart while chatting with the menu, then taps Place Order. The order shows up on your Orders page as pending.
2. Your staff verify it. Because anyone at a table can order without logging in, a new order arrives unconfirmed. A staff member checks with the diner ("Table 5 — you ordered this?") and taps Confirm (it's real) or Reject (a mistake or prank).
3. Orders stack under the table. Each diner at a table orders from their own phone; all their orders group together under that table number.
4. At billing, open the table's summary to see the itemized items and a subtotal, bill the customer however you normally do, then tap Clear table. You'll be asked to confirm you've billed the table, and it resets for the next party.

Finding the Orders page

Open your dashboard and choose Orders in the sidebar. Any staff member can use it — you don't need to be the owner. A badge on the nav shows how many orders are waiting to be confirmed, and the page refreshes on its own every few seconds.

Good to know

• It's a subtotal, not a bill. The app only knows about items placed through it, so it shows a subtotal of app orders. Taxes, service charges, discounts, and the final total stay in your own register.
• Orders can't be edited. To keep things trustworthy, staff can only Confirm, Reject, or Clear the table. If something changes, the diner re-places the order.
• Prices are locked in at order time. If you later edit a menu item's price, past orders still show what the diner was quoted.
• It's free. Ordering — like your menu, CMS, and QR codes — carries no extra charge. AI chat is the only paid feature.

Viewing past orders

Cleared a table and need to look back? On the Orders page, pick a date to see that day's orders read-only, or turn on Show cleared to include today's already settled tables. Days follow your restaurant's timezone, so travelling owners and on-site staff always see the same day.

Idle tables clear themselves

If a table goes quiet with an unconfirmed order sitting on it, the board tidies it away on its own so stale carts don't pile up. Confirmed orders are never auto-cleared — those are food served and money owed, so only a staff member tapping Clear table retires them. A long-idle confirmed table gets a gentle "billed?" nudge instead.
