Handle service requests

Diners tap a bell to call a waiter, ask for water, utensils, or the bill — your staff see it instantly.

Instead of trying to catch someone's eye, a diner taps the bell in their menu chat and picks what they need. Your staff get a live feed of requests with the table number, a badge count, and a sound alert — no more scanning the room.

How it works

  1. The diner taps the bell in the chat header and picks one of four requests: Call waiter, Water, Utensils, or Bill.
  2. Your staff see it on the Dashboard — each active table's chat card shows its pending requests as badges, with the table number and how long ago it came in. The sidebar badge shows the pending count, and a short chime plays when a new request arrives.
  3. Someone handles it at the table, then taps Resolve on the request (or Resolve all after a busy stretch).

Where requests appear

Open Dashboard in the sidebar. Requests show on the chat card for their table; a request from a table with no active chat appears as its own card at the top so nothing hides. Any staff member can use it — you don't need to be the owner. Keep it open on a phone or tablet near the counter; it refreshes on its own every few seconds.

Good to know

  • Requests can't spam you. After sending a request, a diner must wait half a minute before sending the same one again.
  • It works even without AI chat. Service requests are free and stay available to diners even if your AI chat plan is inactive — a table can always call for water or the bill.
  • Resolve means "handled", not "seen". The badge and sound only quiet down once requests are resolved, so nothing slips through a shift change.
