Watch live diner chats

See which tables are chatting right now, and read what they're asking.

Your Dashboard shows every table with an active chat as a live card — who's talking, how recently, and whether they've asked for anything. It's how staff keep a feel for the room without hovering, and how you learn what diners actually ask about your menu.

How it works

  1. Open Dashboard in the sidebar. Each active chat shows as a card with its table number, message count, and last activity — newest first.
  2. Service requests appear as badges on the table's card, so "table 5 wants water" arrives with the context of what table 5 was doing. See Handle service requests.
  3. Tap a card to read the conversation — a read-only transcript that updates as the diner keeps chatting. You can resolve the table's pending requests from there too.

Telling diners apart at one table

Several diners at a table each chat from their own phone, and each chat gets a color name — the diner sees "You're Red" in their chat header, and your staff see the same color badge on cards, orders, and requests. "The water is for Red at table 5" beats guessing.

Good to know

  • A chat counts as active for 90 minutes after its last message, then quietly drops off the Dashboard. Nothing is deleted — the diner going home is not an event you need to manage.
  • Reading transcripts is allowed and useful — if three tables a night ask whether the biryani is spicy, your menu description should probably say so.
  • Transcripts are read-only. Staff can't type into a diner's chat; the AI answers menu questions, staff answer in person.
