Claim your QR & set up your restaurant

If you've been handed a printed AskFoodie sheet — QR codes plus a setup code — you can have your restaurant live before your next rush. Setup needs no email and no account form: the sheet itself is your key.

How it works

1. Scan any QR code on your sheet with a phone camera.
2. Enter the setup code printed on the sheet. That signs you in and creates your restaurant.
3. Name your restaurant and build your menu. Type items in, or scan your printed menu with AI to fill it in fast.
4. Your QR codes come alive. Each code on the sheet becomes one table — code 1 is table 1, code 2 is table 2, and so on. Stick them on your tables and diners can start chatting.

Coming back later

Your setup code is also your login. Scan any code from your sheet (or keep the dashboard open) and enter the same setup code to get back in — from any device. Keep the sheet somewhere safe: the code is printed once and can't be recovered.

Claiming ownership with your email

The setup code gets you running, but it isn't tied to anyone's email yet — handy when a manager sets things up and the owner isn't around. When the owner is ready (usually when it's time to subscribe), they claim ownership:

1. In the dashboard, tap Claim ownership on the banner (or find it in Settings).
2. Enter the owner's email and confirm it with the one-time code we send.
3. Done — the restaurant now belongs to that email, and they sign in with it from then on.

After the claim, the printed setup code stops working permanently, so a copy of the old sheet can't be used to get back in.

Good to know

• Setup is always free. Claiming your codes, building your menu, and generating QR codes never ask for payment.

• Two things wait until you claim ownership: subscribing to a paid plan, and creating a second restaurant. Everything else works right away.
